Arlington Free Clinic highlights NVRC as Community Service Leader

Posted on July 21, 2011 by

Northern Virginia Radiology Consultants was recently commended for its longstanding support of the Arlington Free Clinic, a facility that partners with community healthcare providers to deliver free, high-quality medical care to low-income, uninsured Arlington County adults.

Dr. Joseph Backer, a NVRC radiologist and one of Arlington Free Clinic’s founding physicians, helped establish the partnership in 1994. NVRC provides clinic patients with a wide spectrum of diagnostic services including mammography, computed tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging, ultrasound, and nuclear medicine. Interventional services such as endovascular stents and interventional oncology are also available.

Dr. Russell McWey, interventional radiologist and Director of NVRC, emphasizes the importance of NVRC’s commitment to service, “Staff members are proud of the work they do for Arlington Free Clinic and for the community.”
